I always love working on pieces where I get to combine my love of watercolours and calligraphy!
This one is off to the printers for some upcoming markets🌱

Starting the morning off right with chirpy little birds, a bucket of coffee and a sunny forecast!

Having someone copy something you’ve worked so hard on and pass it off as their own is so disheartening. I know it’s something that many creatives deal with on a daily basis, and that it’s part of the territory, but fuck it’s still a punch in the gut! Don’t get me wrong, I understand that we’re all in some way influenced by other artists, myself included, and that a certain amount of imitation is also part of the learning process. We’re constantly being flooded by so much on these platforms that it’s sometimes hard to draw the line between “inspired” and “ripped off”. But in the constant stream of recycled ideas, I like to think most of us can spot the true creative, the ones who create from their gut.

My plant loving heart is happy to announce that all of my plants have survived the colder months🙌🏻 I’m of course not going to count the one that did in fact die, but only because I completely forgot about its existence.

The good old comparison game. I think it’s fair to say that most creatives have dealt with feelings of “I’m not good enough” at some point. I know I’ve definitely had my moments of feeling like I was a fraud fooling people into thinking I was an artist. It’s easy to let that voice of self doubt creep in when we see so much talent in these little squares, yet it’s oh so important to work on shutting it out and to keep creating for the joy of it!

I got my hands on more handmade paper and of course that means lots of new whale paintings!
